Weigh In

I think I want to grab my endocrine system, give it a forwarding address and then move without telling it my forwarding address. There are weeks that the way it behaves that makes me want to SCREAM. No matter how little I eat, no matter how much water I drink or sodium I avoid, no matter how much I exercise, it decides to hold onto every calorie and every near occasion of a calorie like it is the last bit of energy it will ever again see, so pack it on as weight .Grrrrrr !

I gained 0.4. Granted, I am a little constipated, and this too shall pass, but GEEZE !
Hubby gained 0.4- and if he is wise it will have been in sympathy
Son LOST 1.4- which is a good thing. He is the entire reason we began this journey, and getting him to a healthy weight is the absolute primary focus of our journey.

To my fellow Team Angie members, I am sorry. Perhaps if you all show up at my door and rip handfuls of hair out of my scalp, it will get rid of the 0.4 pound gain. Either that or come with boxed of Exlax or bottles of Miralax......

I'm so sorry that you had a disappointing weigh-in, but you've been on the journey long enough to know that there are weeks like that; weeks where no matter what you do you just can't drop the weight. And then there are the weeks you are pleasantly surprised by your loss. You're right - this shall pass and you will achieve your goal - just not in the straight, steady, predictable path that we all would like.

Hugs,
Mary

Thanks! One thing I have learned this time- the older you get, the harder it gets. I am 50 and beginning menopause. My metabolism is slower, I have hormonal problems and so what would move fast in my 20's and 30's just does not do so now. No matter what the scale says, I know definitely that I am better, stronger and healthier and with less problems because of the efforts I am making. To do nothing would mean things would become worse, and that is not an option. So I just keep on keeping on, cheering and mentoring my son until the job is done. And then, I will just keep on for my own benefit

Don't be so hard on yourself, honey! We all have times when our will wants one thing, and our bodies just don't agree with us. :o )

I think you are going to show a BIG loss next week, so don't you worry about the team. We are going to win in the end. Just keep up the great work!

By the way....how do you make your homemade hummus?? I think I might like it if I made it myself and could leave out the strong taste I don't like in storebought hummus.

Hang in there, it is frustrating when you work hard. You are giving your whole family a gift by becoming healthier.

I think I may be in the same boat when I weigh in tomorrow. I'm feeling a little backed up as well. I may have to start including metamucil to my daily vitamins.

You guys are doing great! The motivation and sticking to plan will get you to your goal!

Yay, Team Angie
