Wii weigh in same- no loss, no gain
I think Jillian Micheal's would be proud of me. She has been known to say "unless you puke, die or pass out, keep walking !" Yesterday , in the spirit of Monday and a whole new week, I decided to try to push myself to the next level with Wii fit.I did 10 minutes of walking outside, then moved in to do 10 minutes of balance games on the Wii to warm up, and then decided to do the 30 minute run. Probably a very big mistake ! My thighs have been very achy for the last 4 days now, and they started screaming and threatening to run away from home with this abuse. Twoards the end I slowed my pace to just a walk and felt like I was going to colapse. Then the rest of the day my thighs were so achy I had problems just standing up from a chair and then standing still. I belive I am going to take a rest day today.
Dietwise, I have decided to follow the principles in the Belly Fat diet for a week and see if this does not get things moving. The name is deceptve, because it does not deal with fat around the belly only. What it is actually adressing is borderline cases of metabolic syndrome where cortisol is produced in abundance. it happens with age , stress, and in certain hormonal conditions like PCOS. The practice of the diet is basically consume meals of 400 calories , eat every 4 hours and includ a serving of monounsaturated fats(MUFA's) with each meal. They have a prescribed menu but I am not following it to the letter because Ai have an allergy to fish and seafood, and if I eat any refined carbs, my body goes nuts. If I do this for a week and see another gain or mainain, next week i will move to an approach of simply counting calories , fat and carbs to see if that can work. All I can do is try.
Breakfast-
1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1 cup blueberries, 17 almonds, 2 T ground flax seed meal,1 t olive oil ( olive oil , flax seed and almonds are the MUFAs)
water, coffee
Lunch-
4 oz grilled chicken breast on 2 c romaine with 1/4 avocado, 2 T seed mix, grilled eggplant ( seed mix and avocado the MUFA's as well as olive oil used on the chicken)
and grilled sweet potatoes
Diet Sierra Mist
Dinner-
Universal marinade grilled chicken
Barley, broccoli cauliflower carrot blend
Tossed salad ( spring mix, mushrooms, green onion, red peppers cucumbers,avocado,black olives(olives, seeds and avocado's provide the MUFA's)
seed nut mix, crasins
water
Filling foods 13
water 20 (160 oz)
exercise 50 min
Snacks
nonfat yogurt with cocoa, splenda, 10 almonds 15 dark chocolate chips(2 MUFAs)
orange
green tea
apple, sugar free pudding with 10 dark chocolate chips(Chips are the MUFA)
Recipe-Universal Chicken Marinade
Universal chicken marinade
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 T olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 T dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Mix, marinade chicken breasts for at least 30 minutes in refrigerator. Great grilled

Good luck with the Belly Fat diet. But if that doesn't work for you, keep trying until you find something that does!
