There are some really complicated ones out there involving grapes and powdered culture, but this is the one I use and it works just fine

Sourdough Starter

2 cups rye flour
2 cups warm water

1.Mix, cover with a wet paper towel and let sit 24 hours at room temperature.
2.Remove 1 cup of starter and add 1 cup flour and one cup water . Cover and let sit another 24 hours-should be foamy and sour smelling- if not repeat step 2 till it is foamy and sour smelling . At this point your starter is ready to use or refrigerate. If you refrigerate, take out every 5-6 days , remove one cup and feed with one cup flour and one cup water.Dihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04694756762570280051noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886550030061459124.post-84246896883946083252011-01-08T09:50:40.913-08:002011-01-08T09:50:40.913-08:00Can i ask how you made the sourdough starter? Can i ask how you made the sourdough starter?WWSuzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14200582568720343436noreply@blogger.com
